Financing Your Dental Care
For many patients, figuring out how to pay for dental treatment can feel overwhelming. You're not alone. The cost of dental care is one of the most common reasons people delay or avoid treatment altogether. But here's the truth: waiting rarely makes things better, and almost always makes them worse.
At our practice, we believe every patient deserves the right care at the right time, before dental disease has the chance to progress into something more complex, more painful, and more costly.
Dental Insurance Benefits
Our practice accepts most insurance plans including most Delta Dental plans. We take care of the necessary paperwork and documentation for claims and appeals, even for plans for which we are "out of network."
We encourage our patients to be knowledgeable regarding their plans and to know and understand their individual dental insurance coverage and patient responsibility. We realize this can be confusing and complex. Just provide us your plan information, and our administrative team is happy to provide a complimentary benefit analysis.
We are proud of our ability to assist patients with questions and issues concerning their dental insurance plans, and we will always go the extra mile to advocate on your behalf to help you receive the benefits to which you are entitled.
Your Dental Health Shouldn't Wait
Dental insurance can be helpful, but it's important to understand what it actually is, and what it isn't. Dental benefit plans are rarely designed to cover all of the care a patient might need. They are typically designed to cover a portion of basic, preventive services, and their annual maximums are often so limited that they may only partially cover treatment for a single tooth in a given year.
If we allow insurance limitations to dictate the timing and scope of your care, the consequences can be serious. Delaying treatment because of arbitrary annual caps or coverage restrictions gives dental disease more time to advance. A small cavity becomes a large one. What could have been a simple sealant or small filling can progress into a tooth that ends up needing a root canal and a crown. A cracked tooth that could have been saved with a crown can unexpectedly split and require surgery to extract and replace. Gum disease that could have been managed progresses into irreversible bone loss.
Dental insurance is a contract between your employer and the insurance company. The benefits you receive depend on the policy your employer has negotiated and are not always based on health necessity or assuring that you achieve the best long-term result.
Our care approach is guided by your clinical needs, not by the fine print of a benefit plan.
What if I don't have dental insurance? What if my plan doesn't cover what I actually need?
You might be surprised to know - only about half of our patients have dental insurance benefits! Dental insurance should never be a barrier to receiving excellent dental care. We welcome uninsured patients and will work with you to make treatment as accessible as possible.
Flexible Payment Options to Fit Your Life
We offer a number of payment options designed to make dentistry more financially comfortable, so you don't have to choose between your budget and your health.
Importantly: Our office receives no financial incentive from the Cherry or CareCredit® program. In fact, we pay a service fee on our patients' behalf to make this financing available, because we care about keeping our best dentistry accessible.
We strongly encourage you to take time to carefully review the terms and conditions of any financing agreement before enrolling. Financing plans like those offered by Cherry or CareCredit® often include a helpful deferred interest promotional period. This also means that if the full balance is not paid within the promotional period, you may be charged with a high interest rate retroactively, sometimes back to the date of purchase. To avoid unexpected debt, always know your payoff deadline, make more than the minimum payment when possible, and set reminders well before your promotional period ends. A little planning up front can ensure that healthcare financing like Cherry or CareCredit® works for you.
