Dr. Lauren A. Ashburn
DOCTOR OF DENTAL SURGERY
Caring for patients brings me genuine joy. My favorite part of dentistry is getting to know the person behind the smile and building relationships rooted in trust, understanding, and respect. I've had a lifelong history in the dental field, where I have seen all types of care - the good, the bad, and the ugly. High-volume care is a powerful trend in dentistry that I take pride in sidestepping. It is unacceptable for patient outcomes to suffer when patients are treated like numbers, rushed through appointments without genuine care or attention, and left with questions unanswered and concerns unaddressed. I am grateful to be part of a practice and team of like-minded professionals who share my mission to create a dental home where you are recognized, remembered, and treated with warmth and empathy.
My journey into dentistry began on the picturesque shores of Ocean City, Maryland, where my family's dental legacy shaped my path. My father was a dentist and my mother was a dental hygienist, and so much of my childhood was touched by dentistry, which ignited a lifelong passion for the health sciences. I embraced my dental heritage and made the life-changing decision to move to the Midwest and enroll at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, where I graduated with honors.
My colleagues know me for my meticulous attention to detail and relentless pursuit of excellence. I hold high standards, and I am always dedicated to delivering the highest quality outcomes for my patients. My patients know me as their dentist who takes time to listen to their concerns, understand their unique needs, and build a relationship rooted in trust and mutual respect.

Dr. Lauren prioritizes ongoing continuing education and close collaboration with trusted specialists to ensure patients receive thoughtful, high-quality, and comprehensive care.
Dr. Lauren has a particular interest in comprehensive, patient-centered care, with focused study in the connection between oral health and overall health. Her continuing education has included advanced training in airway-focused dentistry and a growing interest in the relationship between women's health, particularly during perimenopause, and dental health.

Personal
I grew up in Ocean City, Maryland, and fell in love with the Twin Cities after moving here for dental school. Who knew this East Coast transplant would also turn out to be a Midwesterner at heart? One of the best things I found in Minnesota was my wonderful husband. Together we are raising our beloved fur family, including two Golden Retrievers, Charlie and Piper, and their cat, Coal.
Lifetime Community Involvement
During dental school, Dr. Ashburn participated in community outreach efforts focused on improving access to dental care for underserved populations. She has also volunteered with organizations including Second Harvest Heartland, Give Kids a Smile, and Mission of Mercy.
She continues to value opportunities to support the health and well-being of the community through service, education, and compassionate care.
Interests
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Ashburn enjoys strength training, yoga, pilates, trying new restaurants, and traveling. She especially treasures time with family and loves returning to the coast whenever she can. Among her favorite traditions are cherished family getaways to Aruba.
She also has a deep love for animals and enjoys spending time with her pets, who are very much part of the family.
